Development and Marketing Internship
The Development and Marketing Department is currently accepting applications for Interns. The Development and Marketing department supports the aims of the Museum by raising funds and spreading the Museum’s message of art appreciation, early literacy and critical thinking made possible by celebrating the art of the picture book and providing interactive experiences and programs that are engaging and educational.
Intern responsibilities include general office duties, preparation of promotional materials and press mailings, tracking of membership and donor attendance and giving, donor correspondence, and help with on-site and off-site meetings and promotional events. Ideal candidates will have experience in an office or business environment, be highly organized and articulate, able to multi-task in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment, and be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Work hours are flexible to accommodate class schedules; however some evening/weekend work is required for special events. Spring and Fall interns must complete a minimum of 144 total hours of service, with a required weekly commitment of at least 8 hours during the internship session. Summer interns must complete a minimum of 200 total hours of service, with a required weekly commitment of 20 hours during the internship session. If you are going to seek credit through your school, please include your credit hour requirements in your application materials.

Applications must be postmarked by:
o August 1 for fall semesters
o November 1 for January “J-Term” sessions
o November 1 for spring semesters
o March 20 for summer sessions
If sending in application materials electronically, recommendations may be mailed separately. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. All complete application packets will be reviewed after the application deadline for each session. After an initial review of applications, a small number of applicants will be invited for an interview at the Museum.
*The Development and Marketing Internship at The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art is unpaid. Interns are responsible for their own housing, meals, and travel expenses. Financial assistance may be available through your academic institution or an alternative source. Please contact your academic institution for more information.
