A Day in the Life of an Infant Toddler Center and a Day in a Preschool in Reggio Emilia

(2 PDPs) What does learning look like? After viewing videos which are part of the traveling exhibition, The Wonder of Learning – The Hundred Languages of Children, participants will share reflections and discussion on the nature of learning. Guided by these distinguished educators, the focus will be on relationships, inquiries, materials, and spaces and how they support the “languages of learning.”

Before the program, visit The Smith College Center for Early Childhood Education at Fort Hill then join us at The Carle for a light dinner and time to tour the Museum. [This optional program is FULL]

Amelia Gambetti
An educator in the Reggio Emilia Municipal Preschools for 25 years, she is currently the International Network Coordinator for Reggio Children and the US Liaison for Consultancy to Schools. She has played a key role in the creation and development of The Hundred Languages of Children exhibit and coordinates the exhibit project of the new exhibit, North American version, The Wonder of Learning - The Hundred Languages of Children. As a Board member, she is a Liaison between NAREA and Reggio Children.

Lella Gandini
A consultant in early childhood education and Lesley University Visiting Scholar in 2007-09, she is currently the Reggio Children United States Liaison for the Dissemination of the Reggio Emilia Approach. She serves as Associate Editor of Innovations in Early Education: The International Reggio Exchange. Lella is also lecturer and author of many articles and book chapters about the Reggio Emilia approach.
