The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art is located in the picturesque Pioneer Valley, home to an abundance of cultural, agricultural, and educational experiences. Situated conveniently along the Interstate 91 corridor along the Connecticut River, we are approximately 2-3 hours from both Boston and New York City, providing for a wonderful day trip or weekend getaway. We are only 45 minutes from Bradley International Airport and are accessible by train from Springfield.

The Museum is proud to be a part of Museums10, a partnership organization with seven college and area museums offering visitors the opportunity to experience the art, books, and history of many periods and cultures. Nestled in the midst of the Five College area, which includes Hampshire College, Amherst College, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, the Valley offers something for each member of the family.
In addition to our own marvelous Café, there are plenty of restaurants to feed your very hungry appetite! From quaint bistros to mainstream favorites, there is no shortage of options close-by to take a break and get a bite. We also have wonderful hotels, lodges, and B&B’s to unwind at the end of a very busy day!
