Making Art Together

Summer Stamps

Summer can mean so many colorful things: blue skies, green grass, purple wildflowers, turquoise water, green leaves and blueberries. We are celebrating the coolest colors of summer with this stamping activity!

Materials in Motion

Boats, airplanes, wagons and cars are on the move in the colorful illustrations by Leonard Weisgard, and an exhibit of his art work is currently on view in The Carle's East Gallery in the show, Magician of the Modern: the Art of Leonard Weisgard. Using an assortment of found materials from the restaurant supply store and our own collection, guests recently made sculptures inspired by things that go.

Marvelous Mosaics

A mosaic is sort of like a puzzle: several smaller pieces, or tiles glued together to make one larger image. For a recent Every Day Art activity, guests created colorful mosaic patterns or pictures with shapes made from bumpy, squishy, soft and other textured materials.
