Paper Trails of Paper Tales

Ever wonder how we have a wide variety of collage papers for guests to use in the Art Studio? Curious about how the Art Studio stays sustainable with all our paper projects? Then this blog post is for you! In preparation for the most recent Every Day Art Project (EAP) Paper Tales, we pulled out our collage paper bins in the office and were struck by how each piece in the bin had a story. One piece was from a previous display, another from a recycling bin, another from packing material. READ MORE

A Honeycomb of Hexagons

Recently we tested out some silver and gold tempera paint, and we loved seeing how the paint stood out against different backgrounds. We decided to experiment with black and white paper, metallic paints, and stamps to create patterns within patterns on the Art Studio walls. READ MORE

Kelsey's Special Monday: Wearable Bug Art

The theme for our most recent special project was insects. The project was inspired by David Wiesner’s Bugs image that was created in 2009 for The Carle Honors. The project was also inspired by the various insect stories created by Eric Carle himself. Each individual was able to collage their very own bug that they could then make into a wearable object such as a hat, sticker, bracelet etc. READ MORE
