Remembering the Twin Towers

Today at The Carle, on the day marking ten years since the World Trade Center towers fell, we hosted a very touching presentation by award-winning artist and author, Mordicai Gerstein about his Caldecott-winning picture book, The Man Who Walked Between the Towers. And the Winner Is....

The results are in! The winners of the 2011 Youth Media Awards were announced on Monday.  You can view all the winning books on the American Library Association's website. The Carle Museum offers its congratulations to all the authors, illustrators, and publishers who put out such an amazing selection of children's books this year. I definitely don't envy the committees who had to choose the winners. What a tough decision! We are just so pleased with the results. Caldecott Medal Winner: READ MORE

Caldecott Time!

We're so close! By next week we'll know the winner this year's Caldecott Medal, a prestigious award given annually to the artist of the most distinguished picture book of the year. It's kind of like the Oscars of picture books.
