Making Art Together

Nothing But Nonsense

Just how silly you can be? For the Studio's recent art activity, we are making black paper collages that could belong in Eric Carle?s new book, The Nonsense Show, with drawing tools and nonsensical clip art pictures.

Alphabet Books

Twenty-six little letters are all you need to make up the thousands of words in the English language. Write or illustrate a story about your favorite letter or word in a handmade alphabet book.

This is a great activity for young children learning their ABC?s; early readers developing their spelling, phonics and vocabulary skills; and anyone who likes making up silly words and sentences!

Making a Stamp

Making stamps for decorating stationary or gifts is fun and easy. The current project Prints, Patterns and Papers is keeping guests busy cranking out unique designs now until July 21st.

Materials:

A block for your stamp (We cut down sheets of insulation foam from the hardware store but you could also use sanded scrap wood, corrugated plastic sheets, styrafoam, laundry detergent cap, etc.)
