Art Studio Internship Program

Are you an art, education, or museum studies student or recent graduate looking for an exciting and rewarding internship opportunity? Look no further than the Art Studio at The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art. Interns in the Art Studio interact with families and professionals daily, participate in museum-wide events, expand their knowledge about museum and art education, design special projects for museum guests, and contribute ideas to our daily programming.

Rigid Foam Construction

Have a lot of packing material around? Give it a second life in a sculpture! I love to offer this exploration with toddlers and preschoolers, but anyone who likes to tinker and construct will have fun with this collection of found objects and craft materials. This activity is great for developing imagination as well as the small muscles of the hands.

Wood and Paper Stars

We’re always trying to think of ways to shade and catch the beautiful sunshine that streams directly through the Art Studio’s wall of south-facing windows in the cold months. Inspired by the array of twig stars I’ve seen on Pinterest, staff in the Art Studio helped me make these stained-glass-like stars and turn them into a happy window hanging. READ MORE
