Picture Books We Love

Caldecott Time!

Each year in January, the American Library Association gives the Randolph Caldecott Medal to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children that year. This year, the 2010 Caldecott Medal goes to Jerry Pinkney for his beautiful wordless picture book, The Lion and The Mouse.  Congratulations, Jerry! lion and mouse Read Barbara Elleman's Top of the Shelf book review of The Lion and the Mouse here. all the world red sings from treetops The 2010 Caldecott Honor Medals go to Marla Frazee's All the World and Pamela Zagarenski's Red Sings from Treetops. All three books were featured on Susan Bloom's Picture Books of Distinction in 2009. Congratulations to the winners and to all the beautiful picture books of the year!
