Women Weavers

The Carle Bookshop reviews picture books that feature weaving. Two picture book biographies and one out of print favorite, these books are all lyrical, sumptuous homages to the craft of weaving, celebrating an often overlooked craft that is both artistic and practical. A Velocity of Readers

Sara reviews A Velocity of Being: Letters to a Young Reader edited by Maria Popova and Claudia Bedrick (Enchanted Lion, 2018), a delightful collection of letters by writers, philosophers, scientists and more, each paired with a gorgeous illustration by a contemporary illustrator, many of which will be very familiar to picture book lovers! The letters are addressed to anyone who has ever found solace in a book, each writer expounding on what reading is and has meant to them in their lives.
