Free. Register on Eventbrite.

(1.5 PDPs) The Carle is pleased to welcome award-winning illustrator Gordon C. James as guest speaker for Educators’ Night. James will discuss how the disciplines of fine art, illustration, and teaching inform his work and life.

Gordon C. James is the illustrator of Crown: An Ode to the Fresh Cut, written by Derrick Barnes, for which he received the Caldecott Honor, Coretta Scott King Honor and Ezra Jack Keats Honor awards, among others. Their recent collaboration, I Am Every Good Thing, quickly garnered six starred reviews and is on several “Best of 2020” book lists.

This virtual event is free and open to all educators as space permits. Can’t make it to the event? You may reserve signed books online by clicking here or contact The Carle Bookshop at shop@carlemuseum.org.
