Easy Rainbow Books

Here is a quick bookmaking project that will brighten any gray winter day! We love teaching children how to make this style book because it doesn't require any glue, tape or staples. Read on to see how!

Gather four to six sheets of paper, all the same size in your favorite colors. Sometimes we use the full rainbow, other times we just stick to warm or cool colors.


The Rainbow Wave

If you've visited The Carle before then you've experienced the beautiful architecture of the building and surrounding grounds, including The Museum's stunningly high ceilings and southern-facing walls of glass. Here in The Art Studio we are always experimenting with ways to compliment the light-filled room, including the open spaces high above us.


Another Rainbow

As I was going through our photos today, this one of a materials buffet from a conference we hosted a few years back jumped out at me. I'd like to call myself a color minimalist. But, since having a baby last year, I've become especially interested in colors, particularly... all of them. At once. I was one of those kids who like to keep my crayons in spectrum order.
