Kelsey's Special Monday: Wearable Bug Art

The theme for our most recent special project was insects. The project was inspired by David Wiesner’s Bugs image that was created in 2009 for The Carle Honors. The project was also inspired by the various insect stories created by Eric Carle himself. Each individual was able to collage their very own bug that they could then make into a wearable object such as a hat, sticker, bracelet etc. READ MORE

Wearable Art

In a recent Every Day Art Project we took inspiration from the exhibition It’s Me, Eloise: The Voice of Kay Thompson and the Art of Hilary Knight and explored paper sculpting in order to create our own wearable art. It isn’t often you get to wear your creative experiments so for this project we also introduced an interactive display where guests could remove cardboard frames from the wall to capture photos of themselves in their collaged creations.
