Join Tal Goldfajn as she reads her translation of The Mermaid in the Bathtub, a charming re-imagining of Hans Christian Anderson’s classic story by beloved Israeli author-and-illustrator duo Nurit Zarchi and Rutu Modan. Visitors will enjoy a reading of the book and learn about Tal’s process translating the story from Hebrew.

Tal Goldfajn

Tal Goldfajn is a linguist, translator and translator scholar. She is an Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the Spanish and Portuguese Studies department. Together with her students at UMass Amherst she founded the Pipa Project initiative for the promotion of translated children’s literature and multilingual storytelling.
