Making Art Together

At Home Art Studio

As an Education team at The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art, we are all about bringing people together around picture books to create shared experiences. Art Studio is a hands-on, material-focused, all-ages space, where we have lots of materials within easy reach, and we can share artmaking techniques with family groups and individuals. With our staff currently working from home, we want to figure out how we can create an Art Studio space within our homes and maintain the creative community that we experience every day at The Carle. Collage Collaborations

In celebration of the exhibition A Marriage of Artistry: Leo and Diane Dillon, we explored collaboration through collage in the Art Studio. We were inspired by the collaboration not only between Leo and Diane Dillon to create their artwork, but also the intricate frames that their son, Lee, made for some of the works featured in the exhibition.
