Dear Reader: Picture Books and Letter Writing

December 7, 2022 - July 30, 2023
Reading Library
You know that feeling you get putting pen to paper? The surprise of finding a letter in your mailbox? The comfort of reading a handwritten note from a friend? Though newer technologies allow us to communicate instantly, letter writing remains one of the most powerful and personal ways we share stories. The picture books in this exhibition celebrate letters – our inspirations for writing them, the journeys they take to reach us, and the impact their messages can have on the world.

What to Expect

The exhibition includes more than 35 picture books, divided into three thematic sections: Stories in Letters, Journey of Words, and Writing for Change. Books are arranged along shelves in the Reading Library for visitors to explore, read, and discuss. An additional activity encourages visitors to write their own letters.
