Join us for a day celebrating the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival! In addition to storytimes and art projects, guests will enjoy a Reader’s Theater program inspired by Grace Lin’s new book, Chinese Menu: The History, Myths, and Legends Behind Your Favorite Foods.

Schedule:

11:00 am- Storytime (Reading Library)

11:30 am - (Program is FULL) Chinese Menu Reader’s Theater and Draw-Along with Grace Lin, with students from Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School. (Auditorium)

  • Grace will be sharing her new book Chinese Menu: The History, Myths, and Legends Behind Your Favorite Foods with an interactive read-aloud of the dragon-filled myth behind the invention of chow mein. After the reader’s theater, Grace will teach everyone how to draw their own Chinese dragon! Space is limited. Advance registration strongly recommended.

12:30 pm - Book signing with Grace Lin (Great Hall). Can’t make the event? Reserve signed books online.
